Description of Fused Quartz Glass
Fused quartz is an amorphous (glassy) form of silicon dioxide (quartz) with a unique long-range disordered atomic structure.
This material provides excellent high operating temperature and low thermal expansion coefficient performance through the cross-linking of the three-dimensional structure, making it excellent in a variety of high-temperature applications.
In recent years, the application of fused quartz tube in the field of precision casting has gradually increased, especially in the surface layer of silica sol shells.
This application has achieved remarkable results and has made a major breakthrough in the use of zirconium materials and their cost-effectiveness, making it an ideal material for engineering applications.
The production process of fused quartz involves heating natural high-purity silica to more than 1760°C in an electric furnace for melting, and then rapidly cooling it to convert the crystalline silica into an amorphous glass melt.
Fused quartz tube has a melting point of about 1713°C and has extremely low thermal conductivity and almost the lowest thermal expansion coefficient, which makes it extremely stable against thermal shock.
During the roasting and casting process, it is very rare for the fused quartz shell to crack due to temperature changes.
Therefore, it is an ideal refractory material for investment casting and is widely used in the application of surface or back coating and sand material. Its excellent resistance to high temperatures and thermal shock makes it an indispensable material in many high-tech and industrial applications.

FAQ
1. Q: Does Fused Quartz Glass degrade over time?
A: Minimal degradation over time, but prolonged exposure to certain chemicals or environments can cause surface wear.
2. Q: How do Fused Quartz Tubes compare to Sapphire Tubes?
A: Compared with quartz tubes, sapphire tubes are much harder, much better performance, and they can be used in harsh situations due to their higher temperature resistance and scratch resistance.
