ITO conductive coated glass substrate indium tin oxide glass for Lab Use10x10mmx0.7mm 8 ohm/sq

ITO glass, Indium-tin Oxide (Indium-Tin oxide) transparent conductive film glass, is on the basis of sodium calcium or borosilicate substrate glass, the use of magnetron sputtering method coated with a layer of Indium Tin Oxide film processing glass. In the flat panel display industry, it is mainly used in the field of touch screen and LCD panel.

The main components of ITO are indium oxide (In₂O₃) and tin oxide (SnO₂), whose crystal structure is similar to indium oxide and belongs to the cubic crystal system. The tin ion In tin oxide (Sn⁴ +) partially replaces the indium ion in indium oxide (In³ +), thereby introducing additional free electrons and improving the electrical conductivity of the material.

  • High electrical conductivity and high light transmittance: ITO glass has extremely excellent electrical conductivity, mainly due to its high electron mobility and low resistivity. At the same time, the optical transparency of ITO is also very high, especially in the visible and near-infrared wavelengths, and its transmittance can usually exceed 90%. This high transmittance makes ITO one of the most widely used transparent conductive materials in devices such as displays and touch screens.

  • Good chemical stability: ITO glass can maintain stable performance in various environments and is not susceptible to chemical erosion, thus extending the service life of the equipment.

  • Excellent mechanical strength: ITO glass has high mechanical strength, can withstand a certain external force and pressure, and is not easy to break, which increases its reliability and durability in practical applications.

  • Hygroscopic and processing notes: ITO glass has a strong water absorption, will absorb moisture and carbon dioxide in the air and produce chemical reactions and deterioration, so it needs to be moisture-proof when stored. At the same time, the ITO film layer is prone to ion displacement reaction in the active valence ion solution, which affects the conductivity and light transmission properties, so long-term exposure to such solutions should be avoided during processing.

  • Temperature sensitivity: The resistance of the ITO film will increase with the increase of temperature (below 600 degrees), because in the heating process, the grain of the ITO film will become smaller, increase more grain boundaries, and a certain amount of energy will be lost when electrons break through the grain boundaries. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the effect of temperature on its performance when applying ITO glass.

  • Infrared reflectance: ITO glass front has excellent infrared passing function and minimal attenuation; On the opposite side, it has the effect of infrared blocking reflection, which makes ITO glass perform well in terms of thermal insulation and light transmission performance, and is suitable for manufacturing equipment that requires thermal insulation and light transmission such as refrigerators.

FAQ

1. Q: How to coat ITO on glass?

A: The ITO coating over a glass sheet is carried out in the entirely vacuumed condition by magnetron sputtering method at around 300 degree C. It is a single side coating, where coated surface is conductive, and another surface is insulated.

2. Q: Is ITO glass conductive?

A: ITO is also used in glass coatings for touchscreen devices like smartphones, tablets and other displays. ITO is conductive and transparent, making it ideal for touch-sensitive surfaces that need to track user touch inputs.
